Libby Edmondson: A life full of colour exhibition
This Retrospective Exhibition celebrates the life and work of the enormously talented and much-loved Lake District artist, Libby Edmondson. Renowned for interpreting traditional Lakeland landscape with a contemporary twist through the powerful use of vibrant colour. Libby also enjoyed painting seascapes, gardens, still life, and rural life. Libby produced some 270 paintings, many of which are displayed together for the first time due to generous loans and recently discovered work.
From sculpture to weaving, embroidery to ceramics, pastels to paintings, this exhibition co curated by Libby’s husband Nigel and youngest son Richard, encompasses the full breadth of Libby’s work and her creativity in all its forms. It tells the stories behind her artwork and how they were produced. It features an installation of her garden studio and a chance to see her last, unfinished painting. Finally, there is an opportunity to buy original artwork, prints, a canvas, or a specially produced calendar.
Venue: Rheged Gallery, Redhills, Penrith CA11 0DQ
Dates and Times: 25 November & 26 November, 10am - 5pm.
Free entry.

Sporting Activities
Penrith Walking Football
If you are over the age of 50 and want to start (or keep) playing football, why not give Penrith Walking Football a try!
Penrith Walking Football play twice a week, all year round. They are affiliated to the Cumberland Football Association and hold England Football Accreditation.
Walking football is a variation of the traditional game of football. It is played at a slower pace, with an emphasis on walking rather than running. It is technical, challenging and a brilliant way to carry on playing the best game in the world!
It's a low-impact sport that's easy on the joints, making it a perfect variation of the game without any of the soreness the day after. Being a no contact sport, played at a slower pace, and with the ball being kept below head height, the risk of injury is greatly reduced.
Regardless of your fitness and endurance levels, the slower pace of walking football makes it accessible to an older audience than traditional formats of the game.
Socialise, make new friends and meet new people. They regularly hold social events for members and their partners!
For more information and to get involved, please contact Steve Stockdale by:
