Plymouth is celebrating a scheme designed to make people look again at the city centre’s stunning post-war architecture.
Britain’s Ocean City was one of the country’s most heavily bombed cities during World War Two and its civic heart was virtually razed to the ground during the conflict when, between 6 July 1940 and 30 April 1944, Plymouth experienced 59 separate attacks and the air raid sirens sounded 602 times.

Skills Bootcamp Courses
Train 4 Tomorrow Skills Bootcamps give you the chance to develop your existing staff or hire new talent with in-demand skills.
Devon County Council’s flexible training provides the support you need to invest in your team’s expertise! From web design to welding, construction to coaching, there's a range of courses available. Skills Bootcamps are tutor led and run from 2 to 16 weeks to fit around the day to day.
For employers wishing to upskill their staff, a contribution to the course cost is required, 10% for Small Medium Enterprises and 30% for larger businesses.
Boost Your Start Up
The Business & Intellectual Property Centre (BIPC Devon)’s free 7-week ‘Boost Your Start-Up’ course launches on 16th September and is designed to help you make sense of the entrepreneurial journey ahead.
There are sessions in-person in Teignbridge and online that you can attend, which can be played back after the end of the workshop. The principles are easy to follow regardless of your experience, and you are encouraged to ask questions at the end of every session.
Step by step, week by week, the course will cover the key business skills you’ll need to launch a successful small business. At the end of the course, you’ll have all the tools you need to move your business forward.

For the chance to learn more about funding your venture via an informal online gathering, join the Access to Finance Coffee Catch Up on 20 September. Net Zero: For Competitive Advantage
Join Plymouth Charter and Climate Connections informative and practical session. This event is designed to equip businesses to tackle the increasing Net Zero procurement requirements.
This joint event will bring together champion businesses within the city, who are committed to Net Zero and actively delivering projects around waste, buildings, energy, engagement, travel and offsetting. There'll be an opportunity to work through the practicalities of setting Net Zero goals and priorities, monitoring processes and delivery as well as gaining insights and advice from the champions with direct knowledge and experience.
There are 60 places for attendees plus 6 champion individuals (or businesses) who have the ability to talk about specific Net Zero projects.
