A new office for rent has recently become available on the top floor of The Business Centre, providing panoramic views of Plymouth Sound and Dartmoor.
Altilium unveils plans to relocate its corporate headquarters and expand its Altilium Clean Technology Site 2 (ACT 2) to a total of 18,000 square foot in Plymouth, Devon. Anticipated for April 2024, this strategic shift marks a significant milestone propelling the company's sustained growth trajectory. This expansion integration further solidifies the Southwest of England as a R&D and raw materials supply hub for a UK electrified supply chain, including lithium projects and a planned gigafactory.

Earlier this year, the Government confirmed that “from April 2024, the Government’s sponsorship and funding of LEPs will cease. The Government will support local and combined authorities to take on the functions currently delivered by LEPs. Where not already delivered by a combined authority, or in areas where a devolution deal is not yet agreed, the Government expects these functions to be exercised by upper tier local authorities, working in collaboration with other upper tier local authorities over functional economic areas as appropriate”.
The newly launched Angel Investor Programme aims to establish a community of angel investors to support the tech sector by catalysing growth, fostering diversity, and addressing funding challenges.

The Crown Estate has unveiled further details for Round 5 of its offshore wind leasing competition, offering the opportunity for three commercial-scale floating wind projects to be developed in the Celtic Sea, off the coast of South Wales and South West England. The projects have the potential to deliver enough clean, renewable energy for more than four million homes and have been described as some of the biggest floating wind farms in the world.
The new wind farms will have a combined capacity of up to 4.5GW and mark the first phase of commercial development in the region.

Delivery is expected to commence Monday 13 November 2023 until March 2024.
Support that could model current business support like Thrive Business Support (available until July 2023). A service that could target sole traders, Micro and SMEs. This could include a range of delivery methods including 1:1 support, advice and guidance and 1 to many workshops; all designed to support and encourage business growth within the City.

Kick Off in Business is a fully funded, one week course available to adults (19+) who are interested in exploring the option of self-employment or starting their own business. The programme is primarily designed to support those either at an early, embryonic stage in their business venture, or at the pre-start stage, however they can have already started their business or registered as self-employed. This online course is completely free and can be enjoyed from the comfort of their own home.
UK registered micro or small businesses in the creative industries sector can apply for funding of up to £50,000 with a package of tailored support to grow their business. This fully funded grant programme is from Innovate UK.
