Plymouth Science Park has been awarded £507,000 for a new digital engineering test facility, to complement their Advanced Digital Manufacturing Innovation Centre. The funding has been allocated by the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), from the £8m Digital Investment Programme.
The DREAM (Digital Reverse Engineering And Metallurgy) project will offer businesses a digital engineering test facility for reverse engineering, design, manufacturing and validation of additive manufactured prototypes and products.

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has launched a free interactive tool to help small and medium-sized businesses assess their cybersecurity and identify any gaps. The Cyber Safety Tool has been created using expertise from within the insurance industry, but also utilises best practice and protocols from the National Cyber Security Centre.
The High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult has launched a pilot scheme to help small manufacturers cut energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions. The Manufacturing Energy Toolkit is a guided assessment which is carried out by HVM Catapult experts to create a better understanding of energy usage and sources. It will help small and medium-sized manufacturers save an average of 21% on their energy costs.
