Plymouth and South Devon (PASD) Freeport benefits from a range of customs measures, allowing imports to enter its custom sites with simplified customs documentation and delayed payment of tariffs if selling on to the UK market or zero tariffs if selling overseas. Freeport customs sites are outside UK customs boundaries. This means that goods brought into the PASD Freeport customs sites are conceptually still ‘off shore’.
The Freeport is now working strategically with key alliances and trade associations to bring on more customs sites within the Freeport's Outer Boundary, and, as a result two businesses have already submitted their initial applications to HMRC.
Full details of the Freeport's customs offer and how the team can support your business through the process can be found below, or by emailing info@pasdfreeport.com FAO Ian Cooper with 'Customs Enquiries' in the subject line.

Brittany Ferries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their launch by becoming the official partner in Plymouth’s most popular annual event, the British Firework Championships.
The 26th championships will take place on 16 and 17 August, when more than 100,000 residents and visitors are expected to watch six of the top pyrotechnic companies battle it out to become national champions.
Christophe Mathieu, CEO of Brittany Ferries, said: “We never forget that the beautiful city of Plymouth was our very first destination port back in 1973, when Breton farmers established a ferry route from Brittany to Devon. So, we couldn’t think of any better way to celebrate our 50th anniversary year than to become a partner of the British Firework Championships.”
The Great South West has set out its ambitious vision at a key event in Devon. More than 80 representatives from business, education, national and local Government gathered at Exeter College’s Future Skills Centre, for the second event in a series of regional launches.
An update was shared on the Partnership’s emerging ambitions and priorities, how people can get involved, the opportunities across our blue and green sectors, and how a partnership at this geography and scale can add real value, particularly at a time of significant challenges facing our business and communities, and opportunities across our blue and green economies.

Businesses, such as delis or bakeries who prepare then package food for sale, are being urged not to put their customers at risk and read trading standards guidance to help them stay on the right side of the law.
The warning comes after trading standards found that 56 out of 100 businesses in Devon, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay were in breach of new Government rules which require full ingredient and allergen labelling on all food made on premises and pre-packed for direct sale.
And now Heart of the South West Trading Standards Service (HotSW TS) will carry out further sampling this year.
Businesses unsure of the new law can find the guidance on the HOTSW TS website or on the Food Standards Agency website.
Additionally, businesses can sign up to news and alerts from the Food Standards Agency.
HOTSW TS also offers bespoke regulatory business support for all sectors of the economy – more information can be found here
