We’ve just released the full details of how qualifying businesses can claim a reduction for 2021/22 business rates liability have.
Following the Government announcement last year to provide financial support to businesses impacted by the COVID pandemic, we have been allocated £5.86 million to administer as a Business Rates Relief award, also known as CARF (Covid Additional Relief Fund).
It means that eligible business will be receive a 38 per cent reduction for 2021/22 business rates liability.
The scheme has been designed to help those businesses that have not benefited previously from other government business grants. These include; office buildings, factories, workshops and car parks.
Our Business Rates team will be writing to all the customers who we have identified are entitled to this help together with a new bill with the 38 per cent relief applied.
We may be able to help businesses who have not qualified, if they can show that they have been adversely affected by COVID, have been unable to adapt their business model and have also not qualified for any other business rates relief.
