We work in partnership with local organisations to deliver a wide variety of programmes designed to provide the residents of Oadby, Wigston and South Wigston with the opportunity to be physically active.

Support with the Cost of Living is available |
|
As we enter the winter months and cost of living pressures increase, we want our residents to know that help is available.
You can visit our website to see what help is available to you, including support to pay bills, advice on energy efficiency, and mental wellbeing support.
You can also find signposting to local resources such as foodbanks.
The council also recently announced a £110,000 financial package designed to support local residents and businesses through the crisis. This includes funding for housing support and council tax exemptions, as well as free car parking every weekend in December and grants for local community groups.

Your community group could be eligible for up to £500! |
|
As part of the cost of living support package, funding of up to £500 is available to support voluntary organisations, such as foodbanks, in Oadby & Wigston to remain open and help local people through the crisis.
To be eligible for the Voluntary Organisation Support Scheme, organisations must be able to demonstrate that the funding will support an increase in demand for their services due to the Cost of Living.
Separate funding of up to £500 is also available to local organisations who are running Warm Hubs this winter.
This funding can be used to support with the costs of running a Warm Hub, such as heating, electricity or refreshments.

Have your say on our Customer Services offer |
|
We are currently running a consultation to hear views on the future of customer service at the council.
Help us to shape an offer that works for everyone, finding that correct balance between our digital, online and face-to-face offers:
You can complete the survey online, or by calling our customer services team.
For those who prefer to answer face-to-face, you can find us on Thursday 8 December across the borough to complete the survey and ask any questions!

As we enjoy the World cup, #GetTheBallRolling and reach out to see how a friend is doing. They may have things on their mind that they need to talk about.
We know it can be difficult to talk about health concerns, especially mental health, but the more we open up and talk the easier it gets and remember small talk can lead to big conversations!
