The Office of the Traffic Commissioner has implemented a digital by default process for the continuation of licences every five years.
Your licence has been identified as being due for continuation in the next few months. We no longer send a printed checklist for licences that expire and operators now have to continue the licence through the VOL self-service facility.
It is important you understand and act upon the advice set out below. Failure to continue your licence by the due date will result in you not having authority to operate.
You should ensure that their details are correct. You should also ensure that the email address we hold for your business is up to date and that the Admin Users recorded on the account are the right people with access to the account.
You can check your details by logging in to your VOL self-service account. To check your email address select ‘Your account’ and to check your Admin Users select ‘Manage users’ from the options at the top of the page.
You must create an account in order to manage your operator’s licence. This is easy to do by visiting: https://www.vehicle-operator-licensing.service.gov.uk/register
It is important to us that the small number of licence holders who require assistance on using electronic services are helped. We will continue to provide a full assisted digital service for those operators.
If you need help using the online processes, you should contact the Licensing Office:
