News 25 February to 3 March
Stolen car, van and telehandler recovered
We’ve recovered three vehicles, including a telehandler, which were stolen across East Anglia. We received reports of the vehicles seen in the early hours of Monday 2 March in Borough Lane, Saffron Walden, as well as a black Audi which was seen to leave the area. Officers arrived and established the three vehicles - a Nissan Juke from Cambridgeshire, a Peugeot van from Peterborough and a Claas telehandler from Saffron Walden - were stolen, likely recently. Recovery has been arranged and we are speaking to our colleagues in neighbouring forces to assist their work. Our investigation is ongoing, and we are working to locate the Audi as part of our enquiries. Anyone with information about these vehicles or incidents should contact us quoting incident 72 of Monday 3 March.

 Wednesday Weasels meet the Police
Great fun was had by all when Town Officer PC McNamara visited the 5th Beavers - Wednesday Weasels for an interactive policing session. The young people came with fantastic questions and got involved in fingerprint practice, uniform fun and a close-up look at the prison van. A brilliant, engaging evening with lots of enthusiasm from the group - thank you to the Wednesday Weasels for making it such a great visit.
 Speed Checks
In our continued effort to improve road safety, the Uttlesford Neighbourhood Policing Team has been carrying out speed checks across the district. Officers visited five locations: Elsenham, Stansted, Debden, Wimbish, and Henham. These operations not only help identify motorists who exceed the speed limit, but they also act as a visible deterrent. By encouraging drivers and motorcyclists to think more carefully about their behaviour on the roads, we can help create safer communities for everyone.
 Safer Streets Saffron Walden
Members of the Uttlesford Community Safety Partnership were outside Waitrose in Saffron Walden on Tuesday, speaking with residents about the PFCC Safer Streets funding opportunity. They spent time listening to people’s thoughts, concerns, and suggestions about community safety and how the funding could best support local needs. The team will continue engaging with the community and will be at Tesco on Monday 23 March from 4pm to 7pm.
