PCSO Stewart visits the Stansted Cubs
PCSO Alex Stewart recently visited the Stansted Cubs, creating a great opportunity to engage with the young people in our community. The children had fun trying on the uniform, exploring the police van, and asking a wide range of questions. Alex was more than happy to answer them all, demonstrating the equipment and discussing several important topics.
 Two arrested and motorbikes seized
Officers keeping you safe on our roads have arrested two people and seized four motorbikes following reports of dangerous riding on the M11.
We received a call shortly before 3.40pm yesterday (Saturday 5 April) about a group of around a dozen motorbikes travelling southbound between Newport and Stansted Airport. It was reported the bikes were being ridden dangerously and at speed.
 Essex countryside news
Essex is 72% rural and our Rural Engagement Team focuses on supporting our rural communities because we understand issues faced by people who live and work in these rural areas are often unique.
Rural crime and anti-social behaviour can impact insurance premiums and food prices and damage local communities, affecting livelihoods.
Our rural engagement officers have an in-depth knowledge of what matters to our countryside communities and they work to prevent, detect and deter crime in those communities, as well as catching people intent on causing harm.
Supporting our rural communities and businesses is at the heart of their role.
 Speed Round Up
In an effort to tackle speeding in Uttlesford, our Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out enforcement in Felsted and Newport this week. Speeding is totally unacceptable. It puts you and everyone around you at risk. Whether it’s a rural road, or a strategic road, it’s against the law and we will do all we can to tackle this issue.

 Crime prevention advice
Your home is only as secure as its weakest point of entry.
That’s why it’s so important to have doors and windows that are as secure as possible making it significantly harder for intruders to break in.
Don't give burglars an easy way in—secure your home.
Be fraud smart
With so many offers, deals, and bargains popping up online, it can be tricky to tell the real sites from the fake ones. Here are some of our top tips to help you stay safe:
- Scroll a Little: If you see an ad and aren't sure if the site is legit, don't click the link. Instead, do a quick search and read through the results. Make sure to scroll past the first few entries, as these are often paid ads.
- Use Secure Payment Methods: When making a purchase, use a credit card or a secure payment method. These often come with additional protection.
- Report Fraud: If you think you've been a victim of fraud, contact your bank immediately and report it as a crime.
The dog next door is always barking, what can I do?
You should speak to your neighbour about the problem as they may not be aware that it is happening.
Unless there is any evidence of the dog being mistreated then the RSPCA will not be able to help. If you do believe that the dog is being mistreated, you can contact the RSPCA via their telephone number 0300 1234 999.
The noise could be classed as a noise nuisance so you would need to report it to the Environmental Health department at your local authority.
