Today we have published consumer price inflation for February which shows inflation eased in February to its lowest rate for nearly two and a half years.  

This month we have brought the latest rents and UK house prices data into one monthly housing bulletin, to give you a better understanding of housing market trends. And we've created an interactive tool, where you can see how average house prices and rents are changing in your local area. The interactive tool will be updated every month with the latest data.

How we're transforming our measures of inflation 

Today we have also made substantial improvements to our inflation statistics. We have introduced improved private rental and second-hand car prices data from Auto Trader into the figures for the first time. We have published a blog on how today’s new price statistics are an exciting and important step in the ONS’s economic statistics transformation journey.
