On March 28 an exciting new phase of Census 2021 outputs begins when we lift the lid on the depth of census data by launching a flexible table builder, also known as the ‘create a custom dataset’ tool.
For the first time, this will allow users to look for interactions between topics which are important to them and build their own datasets.
Read more about this, and other Census 2021 outputs on the horizon, in today’s blog.
To help users understand and quickly make best use of create a custom dataset tool we’ll be demonstrating how it works with two show & tells during the week it is launched. Both sessions are openly available to anyone who wishes to attend.
At 11am on Wednesday, March 29, we’re inviting users to an introductory session where we’ll demonstrate the key aspects of the system with an expert on hand to answer any questions.
The following day, Thursday, March 30 (also at 11am), we’ll be taking a deeper dive into the flexible table builder, demonstrating some of the more technical aspects of the product such as how users can connect through use of our API and how they can use it to look up available area types and coverage options and specify the area type and coverage they’re interested in. This second session is more suitable for more technical users of ONS and Census 2021 data.
