The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has published the next phase of Census 2021 topic summaries for England and Wales looking at education.
It includes univariate data (one variable only) down to Output Area (OA) level, where possible. Multivariate data (more than one variable) will be released in early 2023.
What’s included in the Census 2021 results about education?
The Census 2021 results about education include data about people who have obtained academic, vocational or professional qualifications, as well as the number of schoolchildren and full-time students.
This answers questions like:
- how many people aged 16 years or older held higher education qualifications?
- how many schoolchildren and full-time students were there in England and Wales in 2021?
- which region was the most highly qualified in England and Wales?
You can find out more about the topic summary information about education in Wales on the Welsh Government website.
