Today we have published new feasibility research on developing admin-based property floor area statistics for England and Wales: 2021. This research explores the feasibility of using Valuation Office Agency (VOA) and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) data to produce a harmonised measure of floor area across property types that could be used to develop an alternative measure of overcrowding that considers living space per person, instead of using occupancy ratings. 

This research is a progression of previous research into property floor area using VOA data.
