SRS Christmas Hours
Limited service over the holidays
We will be operating with reduced support for the Secure Research Service (SRS) from 4pm Wednesday 22 December. Our full support service will reopen at 8am Tuesday 4 January.
Users with remote access to the SRS will be able to access their projects as normal, and our customer support email service will have limited service. This means that during this period we cannot guarantee that outputs will be cleared within our usual service levels.
Researchers can continue to use the Research Accreditation Service during this period, but anything submitted will not be actioned by our team until full service resumes on Tuesday 04 January.
If you require a saferoom booking, the request needs to be with SRS Customer Support before 4pm Wednesday 22 December. If you require a Safepod booking, please contact the institution directly.
Should you have any questions regarding the holiday closure, please contact SRS Customer Support before 4pm Wednesday 22 December.
Thank you for using the SRS in 2021, enjoy the holidays and we wish you a Happy New Year!
New datasets in the SRS
Furloughed workers flag on the Annual Survey for Hours and Earnings (ASHE)
The furlough flag included in the 2020 ASHE data is now also included in the 2021 data.
For 2020, this information was supplemented with Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) data; however this resulted in an undercount of approximately 20% against the published CJRS data. In 2021, the survey asked employers whether an employee was on furlough during the pay period of 21 April 2021, providing a good comparison with the published CJRS data.
COVID-19 Vaccine Opinions Survey
This is a follow-up to the Opinions and Lifestyle Survey that looks specifically at those who reported hesitancy towards the COVID-19 vaccine. The primary aim of the survey is to provide estimates of changing attitudes towards the vaccine, identify the drivers behind this change and look at whether there are differences in changing attitudes amongst different groups.
Schools Daily Contact Testing
This data is from a trial in English secondary schools and compares a policy of weekly testing for COVID-19 followed by isolation of cases and their contacts with a policy of weekly testing followed by isolation of cases and daily testing of contacts. PCR results are linked to two IQVIA datasets to assess the reliability of the lateral flow tests being undertaken in schools. Two datasets from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) containing IQVIA data are also linked to the test and trace database.
Business Structure Database 2021
The 2021 Business Structure Database is now available in the SRS. If your project has approval to access this data and you would like it added to your project area, please log in to the Research Accreditation Service (RAS) and submit a request for it as an additional dataset.
If you have any questions, please contact SRS Customer Support.
