We thought you'd like to know about a free webinar next week with ONS Census analysis staff, 'Writing the next chapter of Britain's demographic history'.
Date & time: Thursday 23 September, 2-3 pm.
Census 2021 was undertaken during an extraordinary period when the pandemic changed how we live and work, and ONS staff are drafting what is set to be a particularly rich chapter in Britain's demographic history.
In this webinar they will discuss plans to release and analyse Census 2021 data; specifically, to produce in-depth reports across all topic areas. This includes analysis of the new census questions on sexual orientation, gender identity and veterans.
This is the first Census with a compulsory question on whether respondents had previously served in the UK Armed Forces. This data will be used as a case study to illustrate how it enables understanding of the life outcomes of the armed forces, in terms of health, housing, education or employment.
After each presentation there will be time for audience questions and feedback on the proposed plans. The presenters are:
Edward Morgan, Head of census analysis coordination, ONS Dr Adam Kelly, Topic lead for veterans and armed forces, ONS
The webinar will run on Microsoft Teams. Registered attendees will receive joining instructions via email the day before the event. If attendees have any questions, they can contact ONS at census.outputs@ons.gov.uk
