The new Recycling and Waste Collection Calendar (April 2026 – March 2027) is ready to download, giving you everything you need to stay on top of your recycling and waste collections for the year ahead.

The calendar includes:

• Your bin collection days
• Bank holiday collection day changes
• Reminders of what goes in each bin
• Information on additional recycling services, including bulky waste collections and small electrical recycling

If you live in Oxford, you can recycle used plastic and aluminium coffee pods at the kerbside through Podback, the coffee‑pod recycling service. Simply sign up online to receive free recycling bags, fill them, and place them on top of your blue or green bin lid on your normal collection day.

If you live in a flat with shared bins, or want to recycle your pods sooner, Podback also offers drop‑off points across the UK.

Once collected, pods are shredded so the coffee can be recycled with food waste and turned into renewable energy and soil improver, while the plastic and aluminium are transformed into new products.

Spring is the perfect time to clear out your winter wardrobe and give unused items a new life. As you switch to lighter clothing, set aside coats, jumpers and boots you no longer need. Good quality items can be donated to friends, family or local charity shops and through Oxford’s kerbside textile collection. Passing things on keeps them in use for longer and helps reduce waste.

A spring clean is also a great chance to declutter around the home. Items still in good condition can be donated, and larger pieces you no longer need can be disposed of using the free bulky waste service (two collections per household in any 12-month period, with up to three items per collection). You can also take unwanted items to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Don’t forget, Oxford residents can recycle both household batteries and small electrical items right from home. It’s a simple way to keep valuable materials in use and ensures materials are handled safely.

Small electrical items, like hairdryers, toasters, kettles, headphones and charging cables, are collected every week. Place them in a clear bag on top of your green rubbish bin or blue recycling bin on your normal collection day.
