Elections are comingĀ
On Thursday 5 May, you will be able to have your say on who represents you within Oxford City Council.
Oxford will have elections for half of the City Council as well as for Old Marston and Blackbird Leys parish councils.
The polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm on the 5th. We will ensure that they are Covid-safe.
Register to voteĀ
To vote in these important elections you must be on the electoral register. The deadline to register to vote is fast approaching ā midnight on 14 April.
If you have not registered at your current address then we encourage you to do so before registration closes.Ā
It takes just five minutes to apply online on theĀ Register To Vote page.
Postal and proxy votesĀ
There is a range of ways that you can vote ā in person, by post or by appointing someone you trust to vote in your place, known as a proxy vote.Ā
The deadline to apply for a postal or proxy vote is 5pm on 19 April, but please donāt leave it until the last minute ā get your application in as soon as you can.
If you had planned to attend a polling station in person on 5 May to cast your vote, and you, or someone in your household, has tested positive for Covid-19 or has symptoms, please do not come to the polling station. Instead, contact the Elections Office at Oxford City Council as early as possible on the day. They may be able to make emergency arrangements for you to vote by proxy.
