With the summer holidays fast approaching, we’ve put together our 'top picks' for activities across Nottinghamshire. From a time-travel trail in Rufford Abbey Country Park, to zip-lining at Adventures at Mill Waters, there’s something for everyone!
Inspire at Nottinghamshire Libraries are hosting affordable activities and events, including the Summer Reading Challenge. The challenge celebrates nature with a 'Story Garden' theme and invites children aged four to 11 to read six or more library books over summer. Every child who completes the challenge will receive a medal and certificate, with lots of stickers throughout!

Discounted group bus travel returns for the school holidays
From Wednesday, 30 July until Sunday, 31 August, passengers can enjoy up to a third off group bus travel in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire with selected group tickets.
Operators running the ticket offer include CT4N, Nottingham City Transport, Stagecoach East Midlands and trentbarton.
Whether you are visiting Holme Pierrepont Country Park, Wollaton Hall, Attenborough Nature Reserve, or travelling around Worksop, Newark, Mansfield or Retford town centres, there are plenty of places waiting to be explored by bus!

HAF is back for summer!
The holiday activities and food (HAF) programme is for five to 16-year-olds receiving benefits-related free school meals, offering fully funded, fun activities in the school holidays. Each session also includes a nutritious meal, keeping children healthy and active during the school break.
Dive into swimming sessions, race around the track with karting, or get stuck in with craft sessions - there’s something for every child or young person. You can even jump into an action-packed family day at Adventures!

Take part in our photography competition!

Budding photographers are being encouraged to take part in a special competition to showcase their skills and the natural environment across Nottinghamshire.
You could win a night's stay for three people in a luxury pod at Holme Pierrepont county park and the award-winning photograph will be featured on the front cover of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS).
The LNRS sets out the priorities and actions to make sure nature and habitats can thrive and survive.

A holiday club with a difference
 At The Mill Adventure Base, your child will get to try exciting new activities, learn new skills, and make new friends, all while having fun.
Running on weekdays through August for ages seven to 13, book for a single day or a whole week of adventures!
Plus, new for this year, older children can join in the fun with the Teens Holiday Club for ages 13 to 16. An unforgettable week of outdoor exploration, confidence-building, and friendship-making, running from 4 to 8 August.
