Hello everyone! We hope you have enjoyed all the recent holidays.
Here is our June 2025 newsletter which features articles on upcoming workshops and events, plus much more! Carry on reading below.
CAMHS workshops starting in July 2025
Our next series of Child and Adolescents Mental Health Service (CAMHS) workshops starts on Friday 11 July 2025.
These workshops are a great opportunity for adoptive parents to revisit the impact of developmental trauma alongside adoption support social workers and a CAMHS worker.
The three workshops cover topics such as:
- the impact of developmental trauma
- the overlap between developmental trauma and neurodiversity
- self-harming behaviours
Check out the learning and development page on our Hub for more information.

Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) course starting in July 2025
The Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) course is a four-day parenting programme designed by Cornell University.
It gives parents the practical skills, knowledge, and techniques to enable them to support their child with their emotional and behavioural development using a therapeutic parenting approach.
Our next TCI cohort starts on 8 July 2025 and will be hosted by experienced facilitators Crisp and Crane. Get in touch with us for more information.

Adoption Education Champion peer network
At Adoption East Midlands, we know that education is one of the biggest challenges adoptive families face. That’s why we’re building an Adopter Education Champion Network, a supportive community of adopters working together to make a difference in schools across the East Midlands region.
This initiative will:
- connect adoptive parents for peer support
- share adoption-specific resources with parents and schools
- highlight real-life experiences from adopters and educators
- strengthen the partnership between families and schools
We’re looking for passionate parents to become education champions in their child’s school, supporting others and helping us shape a more adoption-aware education system.
Are you interested? Get in touch with the Peers4Peers team today!

Join an education solutions circle!
Are you facing challenges in your child’s education and looking for fresh ideas or support? Solution circles are safe, supportive spaces where adoptive parents come together to share experiences, explore practical solutions, and feel heard.
Led by the Education on TRACK team and supported by fellow adopters, these sessions offer:
- a chance to talk through real-life challenges
- peer support from others who truly understand
- practical advice and creative problem-solving
Whether you're looking for guidance or just want to connect, solution circles are here for you. Book your spot today and be part of a community that gets it.
