New funding toolkit

We have created a funding toolkit for charities, community groups and voluntary organisations with useful tips and hints for successfully navigating the grant application process. We are also offering some online and in-person workshops where we will be exploring the toolkit in further depth.

Available workshop dates:

Talented athletes fund

More than 110 athletes have received a share of £50,000 in grants thanks to our Talented Athletes Fund. This funding aims to help more up-and-coming athletes realise their potential in their chosen sport as well as providing necessary financial aid for those who may require specialist equipment.

Pippa, a young gymnast, has had recent success in several competitions and this funding continues to help her with developing her gymnastics career. Well done Pippa!

Funding for community groups

More than 50 local community groups recently benefitted from a share of £300,000 of funding to help make our county an even better place to live thanks to our Local Communities Fund.

Alongside local partners we have awarded grants totalling £96,000 that will enable community groups to support the mental wellbeing of their residents.

Bus service funding

The council will be investing £9 million to support bus services that would have been at risk of being reduced or withdrawn. This funding will ensure that these bus routes will run more frequently as well as adjusting the routes when necessary to better serve local communities.

The Reduce Reuse Recycling fund

Local community groups, schools and charities are invited to apply for a share of funding for initiatives that focus on waste reduction, reuse or recycling.

Grants of up to £1,000 are available for a variety of projects and initiatives throughout Nottinghamshire (excluding the city of Nottingham area). This could include practical equipment, in-person or online workshops, social media campaigns, education activities or promotion and awareness raising.

The closing date for applications is 4 July 2025.

VE Day 80 Concert for Peace

Victoria Embankment, Nottingham NG2 2JY, UK

Sunday 4 May 12pm to 4pm

We are working with Nottingham City Council as well as Experian, Arc Partnership and VIA East Midlands to celebrate the 80^th anniversary of VE Day this year with a Concert for Peace. We will be paying tribute to those who endured six years of war and ultimately secured peace with sounds and songs from the war time era up to the present day.
