The holiday activities and food (HAF) programme will be continued through 2025 during key holidays: spring (Easter), summer, autumn (October) and winter. This means that children and young people aged 5 to 16 years, who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals, can access a variety of activities.

Sarah, who oversees Disabled Facility Grant casework, was recognised for demonstrating an impressive commitment to supporting families by winning the caseworker of the year award at the recent National Healthy Housing Awards.

Sarah said "I was extremely proud to be representing Nottinghamshire County Council's Integrated Children's Disability Service. It was the perfect way to round off a successful year for our team."

We are holding a second workshop to hear from people with lived experience so we can make improvements for families waiting for an assessment. This will be held on Friday, 7 March (9.30am to 1pm) at the University of Nottingham. Attendees will receive an Amazon gift voucher.

Link clubs are for 13-to-24-year-olds who have special educational needs and disabilities. The clubs run in the evenings and weekends during term time across the whole of Nottinghamshire.

Providing safe spaces with trusted youth workers offering fun and engaging things to do, opportunities to try new things and gain skills for life. All of the sessions are run from well-resourced accessible youth centres. 

Young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) are thriving at a mainstream school in Bramcote thanks to its inclusive and nurturing approach to learning.

Members of the Nottinghamshire SEND partnership visited Alderman White School to find out more about its approach to supporting children with SEND.

The Big House in Edwinstowe celebrated its tenth birthday recently with an Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea.

The home supports children and young people who have severe learning disabilities, by providing vital respite care.

Work to build a new SEND school on the site of the former Ravensdale school is progressing well. 

The building's structure is now in place and once completed the school will be known as Horizons Academy. It will provide a specialist learning environment for children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
