New Tobacco and Vapes Bill under consideration in Parliament
You might have seen in the news recently some new laws about tobacco and vaping are being considered by Parliament. We're keen to make sure local people are informed about the proposals, because if the Bill becomes law, the changes will affect everyone (including non-smokers!).
Although smoking levels are falling, smoking is still the top cause of early death and preventable illness in Notts. The Bill proposals include raising the age of sale for tobacco products, new restrictions on vapes, and measures to reduce people’s exposure to smoke. We know from local survey work that Notts residents are concerned about these issues.

Adult social care drop-in sessions
We know it can be difficult to access advice and information about adult social care and the support available in your area. In response to your feedback, we are running monthly drop-in sessions where you can find out how you can live independently and safely in your community.
The next sessions are taking place at Worksop Library on 11 February and 11 March from 10am until 4pm. No need to book, just drop in and speak to one of our friendly team.
We can help you with information on:
- wellbeing and independence
- community activities and day opportunities
- mobility equipment and technology enabled care
- information on local support services
- finding a care home.
