Women's Health Survey
In the UK, women are living longer than men but spending more of their lives in ill health. The Women's Health Strategy for England (2022) also outlines that not enough focus is placed on women-specific issues like menopause or endometriosis, and women are under-represented when it comes to important clinical trials.
We’re inviting women to take part in our survey so that we can better understand women's experiences of accessing health and care services across Nottinghamshire.
We recognise that other groups, including men, also experience health inequalities, which are being addressed through other programmes of work.
The Women's Health Survey closes on 20 December 2024.

Carer's Rights Day 21 November
Carers Rights Day is about raising awareness of the rights which the UK’s 5.7million unpaid carers are entitled to, and to help them get the support they need.
This year’s theme is recognising your rights. The aim is to help carers recognise and understand their rights, and to access the support available to them, whenever they need it.
If you’re a carer, or you know someone who is, you can find information, advice and support services on our website.

Working together to end violence against women and girls
The 16 Days of Activism is a global campaign focused on ending violence against women and girls. The campaign starts on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls, and ends on Human Rights Day on 10 December, highlighting that gender-based violence is a breach of human rights worldwide.
25 November is also White Ribbon Day which is recognised as the day men show their commitment towards ending violence against women and girls, and invites action to challenge harmful cultures and behaviours that lead to this.
We work with partners across the county to tackle violence against women and girls, and to ensure they can live in safety and thrive in their communities.
If you've been a victim of violence, there are local, confidential support services that can help.

Pharmaceutical Needs Survey
We’re carrying out a survey to find out how people access and use services from pharmacies or chemists across Nottinghamshire, to help us develop services in the future.
Your views will help to inform our Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) which looks at local health needs, the level of pharmacy services available, how accessible they are, and how these will be maintained and developed in the future.
The Pharmaceutical Needs Survey closes on 31 December 2024.

Mouth Cancer Action Month
Mouth Cancer Action Month is held every November, supported by the Mouth Cancer Foundation and the Oral Health Foundation. By spotting mouth cancer early, we have a much better chance of beating it. Rates of mouth cancer have increased by an astonishing 133% over the last 20 years in England.
Throughout November, the Oral Health Improvement Team at Community Dental Services will be sharing information on how to self-screen for mouth cancer, raising awareness about causes and reducing the risks, and the importance of acting quickly if something out of the ordinary is spotted by a dentist.
We're encouraging everyone to be “mouth aware” and look out for mouth ulcers that last longer than three weeks, red or white patches and any unusual lumps or swelling. Remember, if in doubt, get checked out.

The NHS has been around for over 76 years. To make sure it is still here for the next 76 years, doing all it can to support the health of everyone, the NHS needs your help.
The government wants to hear everyone’s views, experiences and ideas to help shape a new 10 Year Health Plan for England.
