Winter community fund

Arnold Clark has introduced a winter edition of its community fund to support charities and community groups impacted by the pandemic. The fund focuses on poverty relief, food banks and housing support.

The fund offers three strands:

Gear up for sport: 300 free sports kits are available for youth teams (ages 4 to 15 years) in various sports.
Cost-of-living support: Funding for organisations assisting those affected by rising living costs, including food banks and poverty relief.
Our communities support: Grants for organisations providing accessible services to local communities.

Energy Support for 50+

The Warm and Wise initiative is run by Age UK Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. It is aimed at people aged 50 or over, living in the city or county.

The services include:

Personalised advice on reducing energy use and bills.
FREE energy-saving installations like draught excluders, timers and LED bulbs. *
Guidance on maintaining a healthy home temperature.
Benefit checks to help maximise your income.
Home visits or phone support available.

Acknowledging recovery from addiction

Nottinghamshire charities and organisations, with the support of Professor David Best (a leading international figure for recovery from addiction) are uniting communities to celebrate and make recovery from addiction visible.

Join us at One Call Stadium, Mansfield from 10am to 4pm, on 25 September 2024.

It is free to attend with refreshments provided.

Featuring market stalls, live music, film, yoga, meditation and complementary therapies.

More places to take a seat

Older and disabled shoppers now have even more welcoming places to have a sit down when out and about, thanks to an age-friendly campaign.

More than 300 businesses and community organisations across the county have already made a commitment to display a ‘We are Age Friendly' sticker.

This provides a reassurance that the shop, community organisation or business will offers a seat for people when they go inside, should they need to rest and if accessible, use of toilet facilities.

Communities benefit from council funds

Voluntary organisations and community groups helping improve the health and well-being of Nottinghamshire residents, are set to share £345,000 worth of the latest round of the Local Communities Fund.

Home for Ukraine - can you help?

It has been just over 33 years since Ukraine established its independence and two and a half years since the country was invaded by Russia. During this time, many Ukrainians have sought refuge in the U.K.

We continue to support the UK Governments Homes for Ukraine programme, which helps displaced Ukrainians find safety, help and a home. Nottinghamshire residents continue to welcome Ukrainian guests in to their homes.
