New housing and employment service - Beam
Nottinghamshire County Council is proud to announce the launch of a newly commissioned Housing and Employment Service for Ukrainian guests.
Beam is a social enterprise that supports guests currently living with hosts or in temporary accommodation, to find employment and independent housing.
Caseworkers can guide guests through the steps required to achieve their goals and tackle the challenges in their way, such as property and job searches, interviews, landlord liaison, bills and guarantors.
How does Beam work?
- Eligible guests are referred to Beam by Nottinghamshire County Council.
- A Beam caseworker will contact the guest to identify their housing and employment goals and the barriers to achieving them. An assessment will be carried out to understand what is required and if this is currently feasible. If those that are referred are unable to afford private rent, for example, employment may be sought first.
- On-going support is provided over several months to ensure any outcomes are working for the guest and are sustainable long term. Advice is provided in resolving issues and understanding responsibilities.
Ukrainian guests can fill in the form to express their interest in being referred to Beam’s service. The form should be filled in by the lead guest who wishes to be referred. The eligibility criteria are outlined on the form.
On 25 June 2024 from 5pm to 7pm, anyone interested in Beam services is invited to attend a drop-in session that will take place at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre, 403 Mansfield Road NG5 2DP - no registration is required.
If you wish to know more about the service before filling in the form, please contact homesforukraine@nottscc.gov.uk
