Dementia Action
In the United Kingdom the prevalence of dementia is anticipated to rise by 75%, from slightly over 907,000 in 2019 to nearly 1.6 million in 2050, according to The Lancet Public Health.
The Dementia Action Nottingham & Nottinghamshire partnership has collaboratively developed a guide that offers practical advice for addressing daily challenges, navigating changing relationships and accessing care services for people with Dementia.
Whether you're assisting someone with Alzheimer's, Vascular Dementia or another type, this guide is a valuable resource designed to support you.
If you would like to find out more about the Dementia Action Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Partnership, please contact our Early Help and Support in the Community Team: Community.Friendly@nottscc.gov.uk

A win for talented athletes
Grants totalling £50,000 have been awarded to 102 Nottinghamshire athletes and para-athletes to help fulfil their sporting ambitions.
The Talented Athletes Fund is part of our Local Communities Fund which offers financial help and support to local communities.
This year the funding pot remained at £50,000 to help more up-and-coming athletes realise their potential in their chosen sport, particularly those competing in disability/parasports who may require expensive adapted equipment, clothing, or have higher transport costs.

New nature reserves
We are planning to designate five new Local Nature Reserves in Nottinghamshire on some of our existing green spaces.
Local Nature Reserves (LNRs) are special areas that are protected for both people and wildlife. They play a key role in helping to protect and enhance England's biodiversity. LNRs are a great place to study nature, learn about wildlife or just enjoy the environment.
There are already 67 reserves in Nottinghamshire (including city) and having identified potential new sites, we are now starting to progress three to the next phase.
Before submitting plans to Natural England as part of the formal designation process, we would welcome your views on the management plans and the sites.
