Nottinghamshire residents encouraged to take part in annual budget survey
Residents and businesses are being encouraged to take part in Nottinghamshire County Council’s annual budget survey, which launched on Friday 29 September.
The formal consultation process has opened in preparation for the next financial year and gives people an opportunity to have their say on how the County Council’s budget is spent.
It is part of the council’s ongoing conversation with residents to find out what its priorities should be to provide a ‘healthier, more prosperous and greener’ Nottinghamshire – and ultimately help it ‘rise to the challenge’.

Notts groups urged to apply for latest round of community grants
Voluntary and community groups helping to improve the health and wellbeing of residents can now apply for the latest round of financial support.
Thanks to Nottinghamshire County Council’s Local Communities Fund, eligible groups will once again be able to apply for a range of grants to help to contribute to meeting their needs.

Parents of children who have started in year 6 this September are being reminded to submit their secondary school applications before the application deadline on Tuesday 31 October 2023, to give them the best chance of being offered a preferred school.
Nottinghamshire County Council is strongly advising parents in Nottinghamshire to list four preferences when applying for their child’s secondary school place for next year.

A caring Nottinghamshire dad has spoken about why he has taken on a ‘very fulfilling’ full-time fostering role after retiring from his long-term job.
Mark, 60, had been involved in fostering on a part-time role for six years until earlier this year when he decided to leave the job he had done for nearly two decades.

Pupils start new academic year at £14.8m primary school in East Leake
Nottinghamshire County Council has continued its investment into education and schools with the opening of the new £14.8m Millside Spencer Academy in East Leake.
Millside Spencer Academy is the latest new build project that has seen the County Council work in collaboration with Arc Partnership, who designed, and cost managed the project, and oversaw the construction through its delivery partner Morgan Sindall Construction.
