Celebrating Notts foster carers Paul and Tina

Paul and Tina retired from Mansfield Town Football Club and became foster carers with us last year.

This Foster Care Fortnight (15 to 28 May), we caught up with them to find out more about their first year as foster carers with the county council. They told us it’s “absolutely amazing”, “fantastic and rewarding” and the “best thing we’ve ever done”, and shared their thoughts about the fostering community here in Nottinghamshire.

We need more foster carers to support local children. If you could provide a safe, loving, stable home, we want to hear from you!

This half term there are plenty of fun activities happening across the county for everyone to enjoy. From water sports at Holme Pierrepont, a screening of Peter Rabbit at Mansfield Central Library - and knights vs pirates trail at Rufford Abbey country park - there really is something for everyone!

Last call for 4Uth award nominations

The closing date is fast approaching, but there’s still time to place your nomination for the 4Uth award! Nominations are welcome from anyone, including friends, family, schools, youth groups, or voluntary organisations – so, if you know someone who deserves to be recognised, we want to hear from you! Nominations are open until Monday 5 June 2023 and winners will receive their awards at a special ceremony in November 2023.

Relaxed screenings are particularly suitable for people living with dementia and memory challenges, their family and friends but anyone is welcome.

Please feel free to talk, sing and move during the screening.

Have you got a little one who would love to meet a princess?

We’ve got a great competition to help make their dream come true. You can win two tickets for the Little Princess sing-a-long breakfast at Rufford Abbey Country Park.

The morning involves a delicious breakfast, a mermaid princess meet and greet, singing and ribbon dancing.

The tickets are for Friday 2 June at 9:00am and cannot be redeemed for another time, so please make sure you can attend before you enter.
