But you will learn a lot! This year’s John Lewis Christmas ad has put foster care at the heart of its campaign. Our foster families are amazing. They welcome children into their homes and give love, care and support to children when they are feeling the most vulnerable and we think that having this spotlight on foster care is brilliant. Zoe, one of our foster carers, said, "It's a really really good advocate for fostering - and it's quite emotional! Having it point toward such a brilliant cause... It’s really important and even if just a few people can pick up the message, it’s well worth it.” We want to make sure our children can remain living in place they know and love, especially if they are not able to live with their own family and we need more people to foster for Nottinghamshire’s children. Please come along to one of our in person or virtual information events, or just give us a call, we would love to chat to you and answer any questions you may have. Next event is Thursday 1 December at 5.15pm

What do you think of your Healthy Family Team?

We’re collecting feedback about health visiting and school health teams (known as your Healthy Family Team). This will help us make sure services continue to meet the needs of local children and their families. We would like to hear your views as a parent, partner, step-parent, grandparent or carer who uses the service. It should take about 15 minutes to complete.

As more and more families feel the strain of cost-of-living pressures, we’re encouraging more people to take up the Healthy Start scheme. The scheme offers funds worth £4.25 a week to pregnant women and children (0-4 years) who are in low-income families, as well as to all pregnant women under the age of 18. Funds can be used to buy fruit, vegetables, milk and infant formula. Eligible families with a baby under the age of one receive £8.50 a week.

Rufford Abbey

Running every weekend throughout the holiday season there will be a number of craft and gift stalls located in the courtyard at Rufford Abbey. Soak up the Christmas spirit with the sounds and smells of winter with carols, mulled wine and mince pies to enjoy. 

Free to attend every weekend from 26 November to 18 December 2022.
