Protect your child and others from flu this winter
Children can catch and spread flu easily. Vaccinating them also protects others who are vulnerable to flu, such as older people.
The children’s nasal spray flu vaccine is safe, effective and available for free from the NHS every year.
This year, all children in primary and secondary school up to Year 9 are eligible for the free nasal flu vaccine at school with your consent. Later in the year, children in years 10 and 11 may be offered the vaccine subject to availability. If you have children in these age groups at school, please complete the electronic consent form when you receive it.
The flu nasal spray vaccine is also available for children aged two and three years old at their GP surgery.
In the run up to Stage five of the Tour of Britain in Nottinghamshire we ran competitons for young people to design the starting flag and winner's trophy.
Emilia Wood, nine, and Robyn Thurgood, 10, were the lucky winners, their designs were chosen from a number of creative entries.
They, along with their families, attended the race: Emilia to wave the flag at the start, and Robyn to present the winner's trophy at the end.
