Nottinghamshire Day and Tour of Britain

This year not only are we welcoming the Tour of Britain to the county on 8 September, but we are also celebrating all things Nottinghamshire with the second Nottinghamshire Day on 25 August. 

On 27 August we have our very first Nottinghamshire Day Festival taking place at Sherwood Forest. There are plenty of fun activities for all of the family to enjoy, so why not bring a chair or blanket and join us for a great day out?

Exam results

A huge well done to all of the students across Nottinghamshire who have recieved their A Level results this week, and also to those who will be recieving their GCSE results next week. If your child needs support the National Careers Service Exam Results Helpline is available until 2 September by calling 0800 100 900.

Back to school? Need help towards childcare costs?

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is reminding working parents in Nottinghamshire to not miss out on the opportunity to get up to £2,000 a year to pay for childcare, including holiday clubs and other out-of-school activities for the coming school year.   Tax-Free Childcare provides eligible working families with up to £500 every three months (or £1,000 if their child has a disability) towards the cost of holiday clubs, before and after-school clubs, childminders and nurseries, and other approved childcare schemes. Protect your family with the MMR vaccine

Measles, mumps and rubella are highly infectious and can spread easily between unvaccinated people. Getting vaccinated is important, as these conditions can also lead to serious problems including meningitis, hearing loss and problems during pregnancy. Two doses of the MMR vaccine provide the best protection for you and your family.

Notts Day Festival

Saturday 27 August, Sherwood Forest

Come and join us in Sherwood Forest to celebrate the first ever Nottinghamshire Day Festival. 

There are a variety of actvities taking place throughout the day, from combat show 'Lionheart', an interactive holographic movie, and live musical performances for all the family to enjoy. 

Tour of Britain

Thursday 8 September

On 8 September we welcome Stage 5 of the Tour of Britain to Nottinghamshire.

This is the third year cycling's leading names will grace the county’s roads following the staging of the Tour of Britain in 2017 and 2018. 

Competition

Best dressed town or village 

It is time to get creative to help where you live take on the accolade for the best dressed town or village. Show your support for the Tour of Britain as it passes through Nottinghamshire on the 8 September 2022. In previous years miles of bunting, flags, yellow bikes and creative displays have filled our county as we welcomed the international sporting event. 

Festival of food and drink

Calling all foodie families! We have two family tickets to give away!

To be in with a chance of winning a family ticket to the fabulous Festival of Food and Drink, returning to Clumber Park on Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 September, all you have to do is send your name and phone number to competitions@nottscc.gov.uk with the subject line "food and drink festival competition."

The closing date for entries is Wednesday 31 August 2022. The winners will be chosen randomly and contacted by email by Tuesday 6 September.
