School is almost out for summer and we have got plenty of fantastic activities on offer across Notts to keep kids of all ages entertained!
From films in the forest, school holiday clubs, to the summer reading challenge and more, to provide hours of endless summer fun!

Holiday activities and food for eligible children:
The holiday activities and food (HAF) programme is open to children and young people aged between 5 – 16 years who receive benefits-related free school meals. Eligible children and young people will be able to access activities with food over the summer school holiday, find out what activities are available near you:

Food support for families
Could you or someone you know be eligible for free fruit, veg, milk and vitamins? Over the summer, make sure that you and your family are getting what you are entitled to. The NHS Healthy Start scheme provides people that are eligible with a pre-paid card to help towards buying healthy food and milk. Find out if you’re eligible and apply: www.healthystart.nhs.uk
Our Food On Our Doorstep (FOOD clubs) provide good quality food at a low cost whilst also reducing food waste. It costs just £1 a year for families to join. After that, tasty food items worth £15 can be purchased every week for just £3.50.

Is your little one starting school or nursery?
Starting school or nursery is a big step on your child’s journey and for the whole family, did you know that the Children’s Centre Service can offer tailor-made support to suit your family’s individual needs?
We can offer support in lots of different ways, from face-to-face to online, to suit your needs.
You could get support with:
- All About Me activities – self-portrait, comforters, health information, toilet training
- Play, listening and communication – playing, stories and singing, helping you understand social cues and the emotional needs of your child
- Routines and boundaries – sleep and behaviour support
- Self-help skills for children to build independence
- My School – getting to know “my” school, teacher, layout, school bag, visual timetables
- Facing the world – what does this look like to your child
- Chats – support for parents, including ideas for dealing with separation anxiety for both of you

Notts Day Festival
A brand new event for 2022!
Sherwood Forest
Saturday 27 August, 11am - 8pm

Some of the county’s most talented and exciting young artists are set to take to the stage for the first ever Nottinghamshire Day Festival.
Hosted and headlined by local soul and R&B star Rob Green (pictured above), the line-up will include 15 acts, all hailing from Notts.
There will also be whole host of family-friendly events including enjoying a two-part combat show starring Robin Hood, Marian and their band of outlaws!
Robin Hood is also set to come to life via one of the world’s first interactive holographic movies - which festival goers will be able to experience using multi-media headsets.

Last chance for 12-18 year olds to design a cycle helmet!
⭐ Competition closes Monday 25 July! ⭐
We’re offering Nottinghamshire’s young people a unique opportunity to design artwork for cycle helmets that will be worn by professional cyclists during the Nottinghamshire stage of the Tour of Britain!
The race will be broadcast on live TV and the winner will also receive their own version of the helmet to keep.
The winning design will be worn by the Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling team when the race comes to Nottinghamshire on Thursday 8 September.
This fantastic competition for 12-18 year olds closes soon, so it’s time for our creative young people to get their thinking caps on and start drawing!
Entries can be drawn, coloured or even digitally designed, and should be sent to competitions@nottscc.gov.uk by the end of the day on Monday 25 July.
