New Integrated Care Board
The new NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) was established on 1 July 2022, replacing the Clinical Commissioning Groups covering Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and Bassetlaw. It will be the NHS organisation with responsibility for planning to meet local health needs, allocating resources, ensuring that the services are joined up, and overseeing delivery of improved health and wellbeing across the city and county.
NHS hospitals, GPs and community services have come together to join up services and to improve people’s health as well as treat illnesses. The new body will strengthen the way the NHS and other health care providers work together to improve the health of people across the county.

Getting active this summer
With a packed sporting calendar this summer, why not take the opportunity to get active? Physical activity isn’t just good for your body – it can also boost your mental health and wellbeing.
If you’re carrying excess weight, you’re at an increased risk of serious diseases, like type 2 diabetes and heart disease, and of being seriously ill with Covid-19.
It’s never too late to get active to improve your physical health and mental wellbeing, so start small and build up starting from 10 minutes of brisk walking a day. If you want free advice or support to lose weight, eat better or get active, contact Your Health Your Way.

Stay safe in the heat
The forecast is for the hot weather to continue over the next few days and while weather like this is something many people look forward to, it’s worth remembering that sunny spells can pose health risks for some people. It’s important to protect yourself and others from too much sun or heat, to carry water when travelling and to think of those who may feel the heat more acutely than others such as young children, older people, or those with underlying health issues.
If you’re spending time outdoors, remember to take water or other hydrating drinks with you and protect yourself from the sun during the hottest hours of the day, between 11am and 3pm.
