Tour of Britain - competition for young people!
The Tour of Britain is coming back to Nottinghamshire on Thursday 8 September and we’re getting young people and their schools involved!
A brand new competition has been developed this year for secondary school aged children and young people: 12-18 year olds are being asked to design the artwork for the Ribble-Weldtite Pro Cycling team’s cycle helmets.
The winning helmet design will be worn by the pro cycling team during the Nottinghamshire stage of the Tour of Britain and may even get captured on TV!
Competitions for the kids!
We have developed a Schools Pack with lots of factual information on the Tour, class activity ideas and competitions with exciting prizes for 4-11 year olds.
Get your child (or their school) involved – and make sure the competitions have been entered before the deadlines! From designing the starting flag and winning trophy (competition deadline Friday 15 July), to creating a new school meal (competition deadline Friday 24 June), there is lots to keep their brains active and thinking creatively.

Autistic Pride Day - Saturday 18 June
We’re celebrating Autistic Pride Day on Saturday 18 June.
This year, as part of its ongoing work with Nottinghamshire schools to celebrate neurodiversity, the Communication and Interaction Team, part of Schools and Families Specialist Services, asked autistic children and young people in our Mansfield schools and colleges to share “What makes you proud to be autistic?” and their amazing responses can be seen in the video linked below!

Do you know someone who works or volunteers in Early Years and deserves to be recognised?
We want to acknowledge and celebrate the Early Years Sector, particularly for their hard work over the past two years during the pandemic. Our Early Years teams have shown great resilience and innovative practice; and have continued to champion the needs of children under the age of 5 throughout.
Nominations are welcomed from parents, children, colleagues, managers, and self-nominations.
The deadline is Friday 1 July!

The search is on for Nottinghamshire’s inspirational young people as the 4Uth Award nominations are closing soon!
The 4Uth Awards recognise the achievements of young people aged 11-19 (or up to 25 if disabled) from all seven districts of the county. Previous winners have often overcome major challenges in their lives, such as bereavement, trauma and illness, and have raised thousands for charity, cared for friends or relatives, and helped others.
Nominations are welcome from anyone, including friends, family, schools, youth groups, or voluntary organisations.
Why not nominate a young person in your life who deserves some recognition?
