New design competition for young adults aged 16 – 25 in Nottinghamshire is open!
We have launched a social media design competition to raise awareness and understanding amongst young people of the importance of Covid-19 vaccination in helping us all to live safely with Covid-19.
We’re inviting young people aged 16-25 in Nottinghamshire to design a piece of promotional material - such as a short video or a piece of graphic design – to help raise awareness of the Covid-19 vaccination for young people.
Prizes for winners include £50 shopping vouchers for sports and leisure retailers, gym passes kindly donated by our district council partners and their leisure service providers (for gyms local to the winner), and cinema tickets.
The competition entrants will be judged in two categories – people aged 16-18 years and 19-25 years. The closing date for the competition is Tuesday 17 May 2022. Winners will be announced in mid-June.
For any questions, please email competitions@nottscc.gov.uk, with ‘Social media competition for young adults’ in the email title.
Further competition details, including terms and conditions, are available on our website.
If you know anyone who would like to put their creative skills to the test, encourage them to enter!

Are you caring for a family member, friend or neighbour? We’d like to get your views on how we can support you better and how we can develop our services to best meet your needs in our Carers Strategy survey.
We are currently reviewing the way unpaid carers of all ages and health conditions are identified and supported in Nottinghamshire and Nottingham.
Please spare just 10 minutes to let us know what you think before 16 May.

World Immunisation Week, 24 – 30 April
During World Immunisation Week which runs from 24 to 30 April, NHS England is reminding people how important it is to keep up to date with routine vaccinations at all life stages.
The annual event, which is championed by the World Health Organisation (WHO), promotes the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against preventable diseases – many of which are available through the NHS in England. Vaccinations are rigorously tested to the highest safety standards.
Ranging from pre-school vaccinations like MMR, to flu and shingles which are available to older age groups, all stages of the NHS vaccination schedule are vital for protecting the wider population’s health. This in turn, decreases pressure on the NHS and reduces hospital admissions.
If you didn’t manage to book your own or your child’s vaccine appointments when invited to do so during the pandemic, you’re encouraged to make an appointment with the GP practice you are registered at as soon as possible. The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of vaccination in protecting us from serious illness.
Make sure that you are aware of which vaccinations are available via the NHS at all life stages and if you or your child are due a vaccination, book an appointment with your GP practice.
