The eagerly anticipated Nottinghamshire stage of this year’s Tour of Britain cycle race will once again start in West Bridgford and finish in Mansfield.
It is the third time the showpiece event will take place in the county and follows the hugely successful staging of the race in 2017 and 2018.
This year’s race returns to Nottinghamshire on Thursday 8 September and will see the fifth stage begin on Central Avenue in West Bridgford and end on Chesterfield Road South in Mansfield.

A commitment by the government to pump £69m worth of capital funds into Notts schools has been welcomed and described as 'a ground-breaking slice of investment.'
The funding will be allocated over two years and will be spent on securing additional pupil places including for those with specialist educational needs.

The county council has confirmed that it intends to enable thousands of Nottinghamshire schoolchildren to benefit from free school meals during the Easter break.

The Recycling Centres are now open from 8am right through until 8pm every day until Friday 30 September. We are encouraging residents to make the most of the longer opening hours and visit in the evenings when sites are usually quieter.

A special photographic competition which celebrates Nottinghamshire and all it has to offer has been launched to help mark a Jubilee year of landmark events in the county – including the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend, County Day and the Tour of Britain.

Details are being finalised to transform the way decisions are made and policies introduced by Nottinghamshire County Council.
The council has been operating a committee-led, decision-making system since 2012.
A decision was made in principle in September 2021 to move to a cabinet-style model - a move which received cross-party support at the last meeting of Full Council (Thursday 31 March).
