This year’s Sign Language Week will run from 14 – 20 March 2022. The theme this year is “BSL Brings Us Together”. Sign Language Week is an initiative of the British Deaf Association (BDA).

If you or your friends and family are looking for Covid-19 information in BSL, we have collated a range of helpful coronavirus resources on our website, from the latest national guidance on Living with Covid, key vaccination updates, testing and more.

Via East Midlands supports their workforce to get vaccinated

Via East Midlands

For Via East Midlands, the health and wellbeing of their employees, customers and partners has been a top priority throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

To help their employees get protected, they arranged for a vaccination bus to visit Bilsthorpe Depot, supported by a group of fantastic healthcare professionals. Employees, friends and families of other businesses nearby and members of the community who've been unable to get a vaccination so far were invited to visit the vaccination bus.

People who have not yet taken up the offer of a first or second dose can still get protected by booking an appointment or visiting a walk-in site.

Self-isolation guidance

self-isolation guidance

There is no longer a legal requirement for people with Covid-19 to self-isolate, however if you have any of the main symptoms of Covid-19 or a positive test result, the advice is to:

  • Stay at home and avoid contact with others
  • Avoid inviting anyone into your home
  • Cancel routine medical and dental appointments
  • Tell people you’ve met with recently that you have tested positive so they can follow the right guidance.

If you do have to leave home wear a face covering, stay at least two metres apart from others and avoid contact with those at high risk from Covid-19.

We all have the power to tackle violence against women and girls

Enough campaign

We are supporting the government’s latest campaign that highlights what we can do to safely challenge abuse.

A website has been developed to give guidance and support on what the different forms of abuse are, how to safely intervene, how to receive support if you have been a victim and how to get support if you are worried about your own behaviour.
