Final reminder for parents to apply for their child’s reception or year 3 school place

School admissions infographic

Don’t forget to apply for your child’s school place by 15 January if they start school or transfer from infant to junior school in September 2022!

Remember to use all four of your school preferences - only listing one school does not increase your chances at getting a place there. Take a look at Robin’s story to see why using all four school preferences is your best chance of getting your child into a preferred school.

Everything you need is on our website, from a guide for parents, to checking your catchment area and the online application form. Once you’ve submitted your online application you can go back and edit it as many times as you like before the deadline – just remember to resubmit the application!

Covid-19 vaccination programme for 12-15 year olds in schools

Be safe

From today (Monday 10 January), children aged 12-15 will be offered their 1st or 2nd dose of the Covid-19 vaccination in Nottinghamshire schools. Most children can get the 2nd dose from 12 weeks after their first dose.

School immunisation teams will visit your child's school to give the vaccine.

As a parent or guardian, you will receive a letter or email with information about when the vaccine will be offered, and you'll be asked to give consent. Please keep an eye out from your child's school for further details.

This age group can also book a vaccination appointment online or find a walk-in vaccination site. Please visit the NHS website for further information.
