If the regulations are approved, workers in this sector who are not vaccinated will need to have had their first dose of an approved Covid-19 vaccine by 3 February 2022 (this date is subject to change), in order to have received their second dose by the 31 March 2022 deadline.
Timeline (subject to passage through Parliament)
- 9 November 2021: Regulations were laid before Parliament
- 17 November 2021: Planning and preparation
- 6 January 2022: 12-week grace period begins
- 3 February 2022: Last date for workers to get their first dose, to be fully vaccinated by 1 April 2022
- 1 April 2022: New regulations come into force.
The timing of the regulations going through Parliament may mean that there could be a change to the dates in the timeline. If you work in the regulated care sector and have any questions, please speak to your employer.
