Apple-tastic recipes

It's national Apple day on Thursday 21 October.

Did you know that Nottinghamshire is the home of the Bramley Apple? Why not visit the Bramley Apple Festival on 23 October in Southwell!

860,000 apples get thrown away every day in the UK, so we've put together some delicious recipe ideas to help you love your leftover apples.

Reuse all wrapped up

piles of wooly jumpers and jeans

As the dark nights are closing in and the temperature is getting colder you may be going through your wardrobe to make space for those woolly jumpers. If you have any clothes that you want to part company with, why not consider giving them to a charity shop or put them in one of the clothing donation banks around the county?

Please remember that textiles do not go in your recycling bin at home.

Recycling centre opening hours change

Recycling centres across Notts are now operating Autumn opening hours which means they close a little earlier as the darker nights start to draw in.

Sites are open 8am - 6pm daily throughout October.

Visiting a Recycling Centre will be quicker if waste is sorted into groups and all waste must be from Nottinghamshire residents' own homes.
