Today (1 Sept), the Nottinghamshire Recycles Go Green for September Challenge begins...
Over 1,400 Nottinghamshire residents have stepped up to the challenge already and you can too! Each challenge will show you how you can help make a difference at home in your everyday life, giving us all the chance to break old habits and form new, green ones.
There are lots of competitions with PRIZES to be won to keep you motivated and extra prize draws if you get involved and share updates on social media using #NottsRecycles.

As work continues to install the latest digital connectivity to support around 40 businesses based in the Council’s Worksop Turbine business centre, a new Digital Innovation Centre in the building has already started supporting local students and business innovators.

Views are being sort for an ambitious project to plant thousands more trees at Bestwood Country Park to help improve the environment.
The proposals will see around 31,000 trees planted at the park, with planting planned to start in early 2022.
Residents interested in the scheme can find out more and have their say at a drop-in open evening tomorrow, Thursday 2 September, between 4pm and 8pm, at Bestwood Country Park’s Dynamo House situated just off Park Road.

Now in its 114th year, Hucknall event venue the John Godber Centre is celebrating the completion of further refurbishment work which is set to take the popular centre into its next 100 years.
As part of this long-term investment, £7,673 from the Council’s Local Improvement Scheme (LIS) has been match-funded with money raised by the St Mary Magdalene Church Hucknall Jumblers and St Mary’s Trading Company.

While next September may feel a long way off, parents of children who are starting in year-six and living in Nottinghamshire should start thinking about their application for secondary school and apply before the application deadline on Sunday 31 October 2021.
Parents should put down four preferences when applying for their child’s secondary school place to avoid losing out on their preferred school for September 2022.
