Step 3 remains in place

Step 3 restrictions remain in place

On Monday 14 June, the Prime Minister announced the decision to delay Step 4 of the Roadmap for four weeks from 21 June to at least 19 July. The Government decided to remain in Step 3 because the four tests to proceed to the final step were not met, with Covid-19 infection rates and hospital admissions on the rise. The Government will review the data in two weeks to see if the risks have reduced.

However, from 21 June, there will be changes to the rules on:

  • weddings and civil partnership ceremonies and wedding receptions or civil partnership celebrations
  • commemorative events following a death such as a wake, stone setting or ash scattering
  • large events pilots
  • care home visits
  • domestic residential visits for children

Much like other parts of England, in Nottinghamshire, we see a rise in Delta variant cases across the districts and boroughs. The Delta variant spreads more quickly, so it remains as crucial as ever to do what we can do to prevent the virus from spreading further.

Weddings and civil partnerships in Nottinghamshire

Wedding and civil partnerships

Although the Government has announced that the limit of the number of guests able to attend wedding and civil partnership ceremonies will be removed from 21 June, Nottinghamshire’s registration offices will continue to have a maximum capacity of 30 people due to the social distancing rules, which still apply.

Couples who are due to have their ceremony at one of Nottinghamshire licensed venues are advised to contact the venue directly to confirm capacity limits and what is possible according to the new guidance.

Vaccination and pregnancy FAQs and online information session available

Pregnant women and the Covid-19 vaccine

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation advises that all pregnant women should be offered the Covid-19 vaccine simultaneously as the rest of the population, based on their age and clinical risk group.

Large research studies recently published in America looking at pregnant women who have been vaccinated with Pfizer and Moderna vaccines have shown excellent pregnancy safety.

You can read Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG's vaccination FAQs for further information about vaccination and pregnancy.

You can also watch their Covid-19 Vaccination Pregnancy and Breastfeeding online information session, which includes discussions around reasons to have the vaccine, vaccine safety, breastfeeding information, patients experience stories and more.

Test yourself for Covid-19 twice a week

Rapid Covid-19 tests

Rapid Covid-19 tests, also known as lateral flow tests, are a great way to check for coronavirus quickly and are free for everyone. You are encouraged to take a rapid test twice a week if you have no symptoms of the virus. One in three people with Covid-19 don’t have symptoms, so by identifying positive cases early, you can help to keep your friends and family safe.

Recognising symptoms of Covid-19 and self-isolation support

Get a test if you have coronavirus symptoms

If you have a high temperature, a new cough that won't go away, or if things taste or smell different, you should book a PCR test. There is stay at home guidance for households with possible or confirmed coronavirus infection.

If you have to self-isolate because of a positive Coronavirus test result, there is support available through our Coronavirus Community Hub for Nottinghamshire. Through the hub, local volunteer groups can help you with food delivery, dog walking, social wellbeing and more. In addition, if you are on a low income and are asked to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace, you may be entitled to a one-off payment of £500 from the Government's Test and Trace Support Payment Scheme.
