Step 3 of the Roadmap

Nottinghamshire residents urged to stay cautious in Step 3 of the Roadmap

Earlier this week we saw further changes as part of Step 3 of the Roadmap out of lockdown, a four-step plan which sets out how national coronavirus restrictions will be eased in stages, with reviews taking place on set dates.

Evidence shows the Covid-19 vaccine is working with reduced case rates and pressures on the local NHS. As we continue to monitor variants we must keep on doing our bit to reduce infections as Public Health England explain in a recent blog.

Checking-in at hospitality venues

Indoor hospitality re-opened

With indoor hospitality venues including restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes reopen, we'd like to remind you to take part in the NHS Test and Trace programme and provide your name and contact details to venue staff or check in using the QR code on the NHS Covid-19 app.

NHS Test and Trace helps trace close recent contacts of anyone who tests positive for coronavirus and, if necessary, notifies them that they must self-isolate at home to help stop the spread of the virus.

Most vulnerable offered second dose earlier

Covid-19 vaccine

Appointments for the second dose of the vaccine will be brought forward from 12 to eight weeks for the remaining people in the top nine priority groups who have yet to receive their second dose.

People should continue to attend their second dose appointments and nobody needs to contact the NHS. The NHS will let those who should bring their appointment forward know, when they are able to do so. Those aged under 50 will continue to get their first dose, with their second dose at 12 weeks, as has been the deployment strategy so far.

Egg-stra.Egg-stra...celebrating local businesses

Tony the egg man

Tony the egg man is an avid Nottingham Forest fan and a regular market trader at Bingham Market. We recently caught up with him about his business during the pandemic.

Tony, along with his late dad Billy, has stood at Bingham market since 1985. During lockdown, Tony adapted his business to ensure it is Covid-19 secure. He also adapted to offer delivery to ensure customers who were isolating or working from home due to the pandemic could get his essential products. He now delivers to residents in Bingham and surrounding areas so that locals can still enjoy his eggs, bacon, cheese and other products.
