Ways to access Covid-19 rapid tests

How to access free Covid-19 rapid tests in Nottinghamshire

Everyone in Nottinghamshire can take free twice-weekly rapid lateral flow tests to check for coronavirus. With one-third of cases showing no symptoms of Covid-19, it's important to check whether you have the virus with routine testing. These free tests can help to prevent the spread and are for anyone without symptoms. They can be accessed in the following ways:

Community Testing - Visit a local test site to take a test or collect a home test kit

Pharmacy Collect service - Collect a home test kit from pharmacies across Nottinghamshire

Order test kits for home delivery - Order online or call 119 for free home delivery

Mobile Community Testing units - Mobile Community Testing units are available in selected Nottinghamshire districts

Education settings - Secondary school and college students are provided with tests to use at home twice a week, throughout term time and school holidays

Workplace testing - You may be offered routine testing through your employer. If not please seek a test using the options above

More information on accessing tests

After taking a rapid lateral flow test, your results will show in thirty minutes. Please remember to
register your test result each time to take the test.

What to do if you test positive?

  1. Everyone in the household must self-isolate immediately.
  2. The person who tests positive must get a PCR test to confirm the result (a PCR test is a different type of Covid-19 test).

Step 3 confirmed for Monday 17 May

Step 3

England will enter Step 3 on Monday 17 May where further restrictions will be eased in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Changes from May 17

Whilst we enjoy doing more of the things we've missed, it's important to continue our efforts to protect each other from Covid-19 and keep rates as low as possible. So, when out and about, please be safe and continue to stick to the basics. This includes social distancing, washing hands regularly and thoroughly, wearing a face covering indoors (unless exempt) and letting fresh air into households.

38 and over? Your Covid-19 vaccine is waiting for you

Over 40 vaccination

It’s really important to take up your opportunity to get vaccinated when it’s your turn. The vaccine helps to reduce the spread of Covid-19, so you can help to protect your family and friends.

If you are 38 and over, you can book your Covid-19 vaccine:

More restrictions eased for care homes

Care Home Restrictions

From Monday 17 May care home residents will be able to have more named visitors and more opportunities to make visits out with no need to self-isolate when they return.

As part of Step 3 of the roadmap, the number of named family members or friends able to visit their loved ones in care homes will be increased from two to five, as the visiting restrictions continue to ease. A maximum of two visitors will be allowed at any one time or on any given day.

Step 3 updates to weddings and funerals

Ceremony

From Monday 17 May, couples planning their wedding or civil partnership ceremony at Arnot Hill, Mansfield, Newark, West Bridgford or Worksop Registration Office will be able to have up to 30 people in attendance.

The number of people who can attend a ceremony will include the couple and will be dependent upon the size of the venue and its capacity to accommodate social distancing measures. Please contact the registration team for more information.

The number of people who can attend funerals will also change in Step 3 of the roadmap. Funerals will no longer be limited to 30 people, however the number in attendance will be determined by the venue capacity in line with social distancing measures.

Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week

We will see more restrictions eased as we enter Step 3 of the Roadmap (the biggest step yet) on Monday. Whilst socialising and doing more activities indoors may be exciting, it can also be daunting for many people. There are lots of ways to help you to manage these feelings and make it easier to adjust. Every Mind Matters has published 11 tips to cope with anxiety about coming out of lockdown.
