Child employment awareness month
|
Do you know any teens 13-16 who work or are thinking about getting a part-time job? The employer must apply for a work permit for them - they are free and easy to apply for through the county council.
Parents, carers and young people should be informed about what is and isn’t covered. Work including babysitting, odd jobs for neighbours or refereeing doesn’t require a work permit. Here are some answers to common questions about working hours and the type of jobs school children can do:

Free Covid-19 tests for households and children over 11+
|
As schools return for the summer term, parents are being encouraged to keep testing. You can collect free lateral flow tests from either a government testing centre, or one of the community testing centres across the county. Anyone who does not have symptoms can now get regular rapid lateral flow tests to check for Covid-19.

Claim up to £2,000 towards childcare
If you are a working parent with children under 12 (or under 17 for disabled children), you could be eligible for up to £2,000 per child every year, to pay for registered childcare.
