The Council is looking at the way it supports people to access day opportunities. Whilst some people will require more formal care in a building-based setting, others would benefit from accessing and being part of their communities. The Council engaged with people who use services, their carers, frontline staff teams, day service workers and providers and is now looking at how services can be delivered in a different way.
People identified new things that they wanted to learn and do including accessing their communities, engaging in sporting and leisure activities, going on day trips, meeting friends, learning life skills and learning to use IT. Findings from the engagement process will be included in a draft day opportunities strategy which people will have the opportunity to comment on in due course.

The Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Adults Board is responsible for protecting an adult's right to live in safety, free from abuse. We are a partnership of organisations working together to prevent and stop both the risks and experience of abuse, while at the same time making sure that the adult's wellbeing and wishes are at the forefront of everything that we do. We treat cases of suspected abuse extremely seriously and all the organisations work closely together using the same policies and procedures to help ensure adults with care and support needs are kept safe.
Subscribing to our network means that you will be given access to free multi-agency training, learning events, webinars, safeguarding news and legislation updates as well as support with internal safeguarding policy and procedures if required.
