Do you have some old ties hanging around?
Before you throw them out have a look at our latest online workshop. You will learn how to make an unwanted tie into a lovely handmade present or just a treat for yourself.
The instructions are easy to follow and there is a downloadable sheet to help you.
Reminder - old unwanted textiles do not belong in your kerbside recycling bin. Take them to your local recycling centre, clothes bank or charity shop (if in good condition)

Since 5 October 2015 when shoppers started being charged for carrier bags there has been a decrease of more than 90% of bags being purchased, that’s over 7.1 billion bags less!
Let's keep up the good work by remembering to take your bags for life when you visit shops.
If you are reusing plastic bags, remember when the bag is no longer usable just pop it in your general waste bin or take it to a collection point.
Do not put plastic carrier bags in your recycling bin.

Thursday 22 April is Earth day when more than a billion people worldwide come together to play their part in protecting our world. You can join them by ensuring all your household plastic bottles go in the recycling bin.
Did you know recycling just one plastic bottle saves enough energy to light a 60w bulb for 6 hours? Make sure you remove the lid and rinse before you pop the bottle it in your kerbside recycling bin.

Our recycling centres have now extended their opening hours by two hours.
All 12 centres across Notts are now open 8am - 8pm daily.
The sites can be busy, so please visit only if you really need to and try and visit at quieter times. Strict social distancing rules remain in place onsite so queues are likely at busy times. Please never queue on the highway.
