Housebound vaccination service

wheelchair user with carer

A special ‘roving team’ of vaccinators made up of healthcare staff, GPs and nurses is delivering the service to housebound residents. A resident is deemed to be housebound when they are unable to leave their home environment through physical and/or psychological illness.

Those who are housebound will have been identified by their registered GP.

Residents who are housebound have been receiving a letter to inform them how to book their appointment.

Any resident who has not received a letter can call the vaccination booking line on 0115 883 4640.

For more information on the roll out of this service please read the frequently asked questions [pdf].

You can still leave home to get a Covid19 test during lockdown

call 119 to book a coronavirus test

Self-isolate immediately and book a test if you have any of these symptoms:

  • a high temperature
  •  a new, continuous cough
  • a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

Call 119 or book online.

If you test positive, have your contacts handy for when NHS Test & Trace call!

NHS Test & Trace service will contact you by phone, email or text. It's important that you share with them details of people you've had close contact with recently (e.g. people you work with) and places you have visited to help stop the spread of the virus.

Remember, if you have symptoms or test positive you must self-isolate straight away for 10 days. If you live in the same household as someone with coronavirus symptoms, you must also self-isolate straight away for 10 days.

Failure to self-isolate can result in a fine, starting from £1,000.

Community asymptomatic testing for people without symptoms

construction worker on site wearing face mask

Community testing sites for people without symptoms are being rolled out across the county and we are prioritising those who cannot work from home, including people who are doing essential voluntary work.

Up to a third of people who test positive for coronavirus have no symptoms and can therefore spread the virus without knowing. This means that testing asymptomatic people (those without symptoms) is an important part of what we’re doing to identify those who may have the virus, and support them with self-isolation to stop the spread of the Covid-19 through our communities.

Community testing  for people with no symptoms is currently taking place in Mansfield and in the Worksop area of Bassetlaw.
