Tier 3 talks with government
We're in discussions with government officials about how potential Tier 3 restrictions would impact local communities.
Leader of Nottinghamshire County Council, Councillor Kay Cutts MBE, said: “Discussions are taking place to achieve the best possible outcomes for the health and livelihoods of all residents of Nottinghamshire. The best outcome will be achieved with the full cooperation of all leaders in Nottinghamshire who I know will have the best interests of the health and wellbeing of their communities at heart. As soon as we reach any conclusions, we will communicate the implications for the affected communities.”

Updated guidance on shielding and protecting people who are clinically extremely vulnerable from COVID-19 is available online.
The new guidance aims to strike a better balance between providing practical steps to help keep you safe while reducing some of the potentially harmful impacts on mental and social wellbeing that were associated with previous strict shielding.
It sets out the steps clinically extremely vulnerable people can take to protect themselves at each local COVID alert level.

We hope everyone is enjoying the autumn half term and importantly, keeping safe. Whilst you're spending the school break together please remember to follow the high alert level rules so that we can slow the spread of coronavirus.
Under the current arrangements, please remember the following:
- Follow Hands. Face. Space. guidance
- Indoors – we can’t mix with another household (aside from support bubbles)
- Outside - keep to the rule of six
- Get a free test promptly if you have symptoms of coronavirus. Call 119 or visit the Government website

On 20 September, the Government announced a new national Test and Trace Support Scheme. Under the scheme payments of £500 will be available for residents who have received notification from NHS test and trace to self-isolate, providing that period of self-isolation started on or after 28 September 2020.
The payment is to support those on low incomes, who would also lose income as a result of self-isolating, and to encourage people to get tested if they have symptoms. This is important to help stop the transmission of COVID 19.
The scheme will operate until 31 January 2021and further information can be obtained from your local district/borough council who are administering the scheme and payments in their areas.

Emergency Departments at hospitals are busy at the moment, so please only attend in a real emergency.
Your NHS is here to see you, safely and there are other services to help if you are concerned about your health, such as your GP, pharmacist, urgent treatment centre, the NHS 111 website or you can call 111.

Halloween is only a week away and there are plenty of family fun activities (including virtual events) that the whole family can enjoy this half term.
Remember you can only meet with your household or support bubble indoors and if you're going to a restaurant or indoor venue, remember to do the NHS Test and Trace.
Outdoor activities can be with different households if you stick to the rule of 6 and keep to social distancing guidance.
